thank you, dear friends, for expressing your thoughts today on the importance of the arts in your lives.

many years ago, a number of threads were devoted to poetry, literature, even english grammar.

rather than resurrect an old thread -- usually with zero results -- i would like to introduce a new post, asking you to add some of your favorite verse.

although tomo's human hotdogs was as low as an alleged human could verbally go, tomo's fear-mongering was not an official video.. i'm wagering that the feb 2016 video will be pulled or adjusted.. what do you think, trash?.

Not a JW here BUT at 150 is he and she not in a rather Professional Career environment? I so thought that this was NOT the Jehovah Witness way. The preach one thing then put something else in their video how confusing is this?

sorry ftb i didn't respond, but here is your post again and i will respond on this new thread.. i'm curious to know how you know you were born with asperger's syndrome.

it seems to be extremely hard to clinically diagnose, but popular to self-diagnose.

I will add one thing Behavior problems in school is a sign that something is wrong somewhere. It is either a learning disability, emotional problem or could be sever family issues AND the school should be addressing these issues.

My experience with Aspergers comes from being a Mom. My son by the time he was in first grade spoke and wrote in three languages and told the teacher to give him some real work to do. That went over real big. By the time he was in 5th grade (note he had no clue what it was) he was doing calculas in his head. Now could he get along with the kids in the classroom NOPE. On a one to one basis could he carry on a conversation at the age of say 13 or 14 with say an attorney and the attorney stand there going and WHAT IS HIS AGE?!?!

At one point I identified a child at the school bus stop. I watched this child for a week, then for several days with the mother's permission I spoke to him several times. I questioned mom as to what type of testing the school has done which is a requirement in the US if requested by the parent. She stated they said he is just a behavior problem. I told her, tomorrow you be dressed ready to go to school once the bus pulls out here. We went to the school. When the principal saw me with her they instantly agreed to testing her son. Six weeks later a diagnosis of sever Aspergers.

Aspergers Syndrome is not that hard for the proper Doctor to diagnose. It does have many forms and someone can be very high functioning and extremely intelligent. One of the signs is inability to function in a group setting. They would be able to do the same task with one other person but if there were say 4 people around they would shut down and not be able to function. Young boys will tend to get labeled "trouble makers" because they cannot express their frustration that they are uncomfortable with so many people as round them. When they are removed into a smaller group where they are free to express themselves then the true person will shine.

A philosophical question .... what does the word God mean to you personally ?

to myself it means to seek knowledge and understanding of are selves and the world in which we live.. unfortunately history has shown whenever one tries to connect to god and of his knowledge through men who say they themselves are connected to god through spiritual wifi ie.

gb members of the jehovah's witnesses for example, one usually ends up finding a accumulation of only man's acquired knowledge.

over thousands of years of trying to connect to a god(s) for help and answers, mankind has eventually relinquished himself to seeking answers through scientific investigative acquired knowledge of the world in which we live in.

Never a JW, raised Lutheran but walked away from religion completely when I was 50. I believe in God and I am very spiritual. I worship my way normally four hours per week and feel I have a very close connection with God. We have walked many rocky and smooth roads together, and the knowledge that he is there to lean on has gotten me through some very tough times. He listens long into the night at times.

When bad things happen I do not blame God. A lot of times we as a society have created the elements that cause these bad things to happen yet we are very quick to blame God.

The Demons were messing with me last night!

so said my pops one morning.

we were visiting my sister in eastern tennessee and the night before after everyone else went to bed pops was watching tv when all of a sudden and completely on it's own the tv changed to the tonight show, holy smokes!!

must be demons cause pops didn't change it!

When we were young we purchased a very large 4 story colonial. Our only child was 9 months old. Every night at bedtime we would go through and turn off everything. Get in bed and once everything was quiet we could hear a very low radio playing. Get up search the entire house to find nothing. This went on for weeks. It turned out to be the a combination of 2 things. First the phone in our bedroom had a speaker phone. Second the previous owner of the home was into ham radios and had an elaborate antenna system in the crawl space of the fourth floor. So what we were getting was a local radio station on the speaker phone. Swapped phones problem solved. No demons.

Has anyone seen "The Prodigal Son Returns" on JW.TV? A Masterpiece of indoctrination

i'm watching the jw movie the prodigal son returns.. it is a masterpiece of indoctination and what i would call a "cult" classic.. it's about two brothers who work for their father's construction firm.

the older one is the most spiritual and the younger one isn't.

he befriends al, a weak brother, who persuades him to take a job in the city and move there.. it shows the "world" in the worst possible light.

Never a JW but the "Elder" gave me the book on Families to see how I would react. I never did get to fully discuss my feelings on how children were raised in a JW family with the "Elder" but as a single mother of two, one boy and one girl and they were raised the same to enter this big bad world as self sufficient ADULTS. My goal was by the age of 18 they should be able to make life decisions on their OWN!!! When I read in the book on Families that high school students were going to their parents for approval about school activities, the book took flight across the room and my blood pressure went through the roof. At what age will these kids become ADULTS will Mommy and Daddy be holding their hands forever. Both of my kids made ALL of their curriculum and after school decisions and college decisions on their OWN!!! They graduated with honors, have excellent manners and were brought up to believe in God but if they choose to follow a religion that is up to them.

I do not think the JWS prepare their children for life on their own in the least bit. They are not prepared to make decisions, they are not prepared to live on their own and far from critical thinking about any subject matter.

we were right down with the very lowest.. father never a jw we had a po with little mans syndrome and love to pick on sisters that had no husband to stand up for them,he picked on my mother only to find out he picked on the wrong person,she came from a hard up bringing and didn't take any s###t from anyone particularly this little bully and we were very poor...how low can you get!.
